Dr. Arthur Rosenthal is the chief of the surgical oncology / breast program at the START Center for Cancer Care. He is a graduate of Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and performed his residency in Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania, where he was chief resident of general surgery. Dr. Rosenthal’s special interest is in breast surgery. He is board certified in general surgery.
Dr. Rosenthal also served as a major in the Medical Corps at the US Army Institute of Surgical Research, Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas where he received the Meritorious Service Medal.
Dr. Rosenthal is a member of the Texas Surgical Society, the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Breast Surgeons, and the American Society of Breast Disease; and he is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Rosenthal has been named among Texas Monthly’s “Texas Super Doctors” every year since 2005; S.A. Scene’s “San Antonio’s Best Doctors” every year since 2008; and San Antonio Magazine’s “Best Doctors” every year since 2008. Dr. Rosenthal also has authored many research publications on the subject of general surgery.
