Dr. Kelly was born and raised in Massachusetts and attended Tufts University School of Medicine under the Health Professions Scholarship Program with the United States Army. He moved to San Antonio in 2003 and began surgical training at Brooke Army Medical Center. After completing surgical training, Dr. Kelly spent two years at Fort Stewart, Georgia before returning to Brooke Army Medical Center teaching surgical residents.
Dr. Kelly’s military career includes three tours as a combat surgeon in Afghanistan and one year as a Flight Surgeon in Egypt. He joined the START Center for Cancer Care in 2015. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of general surgery, including minimally invasive techniques, with a focus on benign and malignant breast disease. Dr. Kelly is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
