Dr. George E. Mimari grew up in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, he attended the University of Houston, graduating with honors earning a bachelor of science in pharmacy. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and was inducted into the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. After completing a surgical internship at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania, he returned to San Antonio and completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.
In addition to his general surgery private practice, he also is an associate clinical professor of surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Surgical Society, and the J. Bradley Aust Surgical Society. He is named in Strathmore’s “Who’s Who,” and he has been listed numerous times in San Antonio’s “Top Doctors” and Texas Monthly’s “Texas Super Doctors,” and is listed in the “Guide to America’s Top Surgeons.” He is fluent in Spanish.
