Jake Ribak, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, OCN

Jake Ribak, MSN, FNP-C, OCN is a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in oncology and hematology care at The START Center in San Antonio. Since joining the practice in 2019, he has provided compassionate, evidence-based care to patients facing cancer and blood disorders. His clinical experience includes multiple malignancies with a special interest in colorectal cancer and advanced melanoma care.

Jake is committed to helping patients and families feel informed, supported, and confident in their care. He believes education is a vital part of healthcare and takes time to ensure patients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and care plan. By fostering open communication and shared decision-making, he empowers patients to actively participate in their healthcare journey.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Jake worked as an oncology registered nurse at Methodist Hospital Stone Oak, where he developed a strong foundation in cancer care. He earned a Master of Science in Nursing and is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He also holds the prestigious Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in oncology nursing.

Jake is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Oncology Nurse Society (ONS), Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. In 2022, he was nominated for Best Nurse Practitioner in San Antonio through the Salute to Nurses program sponsored by the San Antonio Express-News, recognizing his dedication to exceptional patient care and clinical excellence.

A San Antonio native, Jake considers it a privilege to care for patients during some of life’s most challenging moments. He is dedicated to delivering exceptional high quality oncology and hematology clinical care while providing the support, education, and encouragement patients need along the way.

Outside of work, Jake enjoys cooking, traveling, and exploring new cultures and cuisines. His favorite destinations include the Netherlands and Switzerland.
