Scott Ulmer, MD

Dr. Scott Ulmer is board-certified in medical oncology and hematology and is currently in private practice with the START Center at their Sonterra location in San Antonio, Texas. Originally from Oregon, Dr. Ulmer received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. He earned his medical degree at the Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Ulmer was a distinguished resident and was selected to serve as the Chief Medical Resident in Internal Medicine at the University of Utah. This was followed by his fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah.
Dr Ulmer moved to San Antonio and began his private practice with the START Center in 2003. He manages a wide variety of hematologic and oncologic diseases, but has a special interest in multiple myeloma, lymphomas, and non-acute leukemias.
Dr Ulmer has been named a Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly magazine as well as one of San Antonio’s Top Doctors in Scene in S.A.
